Derek Holmes is the Sourcing Manager for Schreiber Foods.

Derek holds a BS in Accounting from Missouri State and an MBA from Drury University.

Derek grew up on a small dairy farm. He spent the first 18 years of his career in manufacturing accounting including 3 years as a cost analyst at a construction explosives company and a capital equipment manufacturing company for the tech industry. He then spent 2 years as a cost analyst, 4 years as a plant controller and 8 years as a region controller at Schreiber Foods. The last 11 years have been spent in various dairy sourcing roles at Schreiber Foods.

Derek and his team are responsible for sourcing all dairy products for Schreiber Foods in the United States. They are responsible for all negotiations, agreements, relationships with all of the many suppliers Schreiber has in the US. Derek also serves as an IMPA board member.

Derek volunteers at Mission of Hope (a drug and alcohol rehab program in Mobile, Alabama), Camp Barnabas (which provides a summer camp experience to kids with special needs and chronic illnesses), and as an AWANA leader (a weekly faith based program for 5th and 6th grade boys). Derek and his wife Jill have two adult children with the youngest one entering her senior year of college, so almost full-time empty nesters. Derek enjoys most things outdoors including fishing and spending most summer weekends boating on the lake. Any additional free time is spent on the farm raising cattle.
